Women of Taste The Women of Taste invitational quilt project matched 51 women quilt artists with 51 prominent women chefs and culinary entrepreneurs. The resulting exhibition consists of 50 contemporary art quilts that are based on personal and professional ideas about food, family and careers.

Other topics such as the environment, agriculture and health are also probed in these stitched statements.

On view at the Contemporary Art Center of Virginia are 25 quilts that resulted from the artist-chef collaborations. Some of the pairings of artists-chefs include: Kathleen Sharp and Susan Spicer (Bayona, New Orleans, LA), Sue Pierce and Nora Pouillion, (Restaurant Nora,
Washington, D.C.) Sarah Leverett and Alice L. Waters (Chez Panisse, Berkeley, CA).

This exhibition is circulated by the Smithsonian Institution's Traveling Exhibitions Service, Washington, D.C.
